Craig Neal, was born into the asphalt industry and has experience that goes back decades. Neal’s father, Harold Neal, founded Neal Manufacturing in 1978, putting him to work at the young age of just 13. As Neal Manufacturing became an innovator and a pioneer in pavement maintenance equipment, Craig Neal was there every step of the way. He gained valuable hands-on experience and insight into tools of the trade, techniques, and the industry as a whole.

At age 18, Craig worked as a salesman for his father’s pavement expos. He also spoke at numerous trade shows and conference events, meeting many contractors while gaining valuable on-the-ground experience about the business side of the industry.

His experience with asphalt didn’t stop there. While Neal worked for his father until he was 25 years old, he also started his own ventures. As he attended college in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Neal began his very own parking lot striping company. He ran it for three years before graduating, experiencing firsthand what it takes to run and market a business successfully.

After working for his father, Craig moved on to Ingersoll Rand, serving as Vice President for 14 years before the company sold its construction piece in 2009. 

From there, Craig became a strategist for Yanmar Construction for two years before joining Walkie Talkie in 2011. Craig’s brother, Brett Neal, started Walkie Talkie in 2005. He left the business in 2012 to become an Orthodox Priest in Pennsylvania, leaving Craig Neal to take over the company and turn it into what it is today.
